Installation on Mac

It is very easy to use the Breton Hunspell corrector under MacOSX. MacOS 10.5+ systems are installed with the TextEdit application which is a small word processor taking into account the functionality of spelling and grammar correction. Microsoft Outlook for Mac also leverages Hunspell proofreaders.

To write in Breton in TextEdit:

  1. Download the corrector.
  2. Unzip the .aff and .dic files into the /Library/Spelling directory.
  3. Then restart the computer so that the system loads the new corrector when it initializes.
  4. In the TextEdit application, Ctrl+Click, choose “Spelling and Grammar” and select the Breton (Library) languages.
